This gift of life is at times perplexing, often confounding, and always worthy of examination. So many things make me wonder, and writing is my brain purge.

Welcome to my blog.

I started this blog as a way to interact with life. Often I would see a story in the news that would pique my interest and cause me to question the perspective.

I look forward to interacting with the writing community and exercising my writing muscles by trying new things, responding to prompts I wouldn’t be drawn to ordinarily, and participating in challenges. Over time, my blog will morph into what it hopes to become, and hopefully I will remember to return and update this page. In the meantime, please be patient while I figure this out. Baby steps.

My kids will make appearances in my blog from time to time. The two youngest boys (who at the time of this writing are 17 and 18) will be referred to as Maverick and Goose. Maverick has always been adventurous, and Goose has always been by his side. These two have been a team from the moment Maverick was born. My daughter (22) will be referred to as Sunshine. She is a giggling, joking, hashtag-pun-labeling, motivated young woman who has a love of life and nature. My eldest (25) is heading for a PhD in Astronomy and Physics, so I’ll just call him Smartypants. He also is a joyful, full-of-life guy who loves his friends and family first and foremost.

I will make attempts at humor, but as my 17-year-old son likes to point out, sometimes my jokes fall flat. Still I try.

From time to time I will come across something that will have me scratching my head. You can read about it here, and if you are interested, we can question them together. I’ve climbed the mountain of life long enough to have a clear and panoramic view, but sometimes need to zoom in on things that stand out as beautiful or strike me as odd.
